The age of WWE’s creative team is once again under fire, as Dave Meltzer says the company’s decision-makers are too old and too insulated from the modern wrestling scene. Speaking on the November 1, 2025 episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer claimed that while WWE employs younger writers, the true creative power lies with veterans like Triple H, Bruce Prichard, Michael Hayes, and Paul Heyman — all of whom are in their late 50s or 60s.
Meltzer explained that WWE’s top decision-makers are stuck in a decades-old mindset, saying most of them “don’t even watch AEW or other wrestling promotions.” He argued that the company’s creative stagnation stems from a lack of fresh perspectives and limited awareness of the broader wrestling world. “You’re not going to keep learning if you’re only following your own company,” Meltzer said.
