Sean Ross Sapp Clarifies WWE’s Use of AI in Creative—And Why Top Talent Are Offended by the Rumors

Despite viral rumors, WWE isn’t handing creative control to artificial intelligence. Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp clarified during his October 19, 2025 Q&A that while WWE does use AI tools, they’re strictly for technical and production purposes—like match history lookups, note organization, and graphics—not for writing storylines.

Sapp revealed that top WWE talent were actually offended by the reports, with one saying, “Ed Koski is not AI. Paul Heyman is not AI. Michael Hayes is not AI.” Multiple creative team members reportedly echoed that sentiment, emphasizing that WWE’s scripts are still written the traditional way—in collaboration with the wrestlers.

So, while WWE may be embracing technology behind the scenes, the storytelling that unfolds on RAW and SmackDown is still 100% human.
