Wes Lee’s WWE release shocked fans, but according to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the decision came down to long-term planning. WWE reportedly felt Lee — real name Deveon Aichens — was unlikely to ever be used on the main roster despite his strong reputation as one of NXT’s top in-ring talents.
After five years with WWE, Lee was quietly removed from the roster and officially released on October 10. Now returning to his Dezmond Xavier name, he’s preparing for the next chapter — and rumors are already swirling about a Rascalz reunion in TNA Wrestling.
