According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE talent working with partner promotions like TNA and AAA aren’t receiving additional pay for those appearances. The reason? WWE views these bookings as part of the company’s current reduced schedule structure.
With most wrestlers now working far fewer live events and TV tapings than in previous years, WWE feels justified in booking talent for external appearances without offering extra compensation. Wrestlers are still earning their guaranteed contracts, even if those deals now involve fewer workdays per week.
This approach reflects WWE’s shift toward quality over quantity in scheduling — but it also raises questions about how much freedom performers truly have when it comes to outside bookings.
