Andrade El Idolo’s AEW future continues to be clouded in confusion. After being fired from WWE in September and debuting for AEW on October 1 alongside the Don Callis Family, he’s since vanished from television. Fightful Select reports that Andrade’s situation remains “very confusing,” with legal complications stemming from his WWE release.
While Andrade traveled to Puerto Rico for a WWC Universal Title match, he won’t be competing—only fulfilling other parts of his booking commitment. Reports suggest AEW received a cease-and-desist letter from WWE, and Andrade could be facing a one-year non-compete clause tied to his WWE termination.
