R-Truth’s surprise departure from WWE may have left fans stunned, but the longtime fan-favorite isn't slowing down. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, major promotions are already expressing interest, and TNA Wrestling is reportedly at the front of the line.
Veteran journalist Dave Meltzer reported that R-Truth could stay active with a full schedule of independent bookings, including merchandise sales and autograph signings. However, there may be more significant opportunities ahead.
“I don’t know that AEW would or wouldn’t take him. Really it comes down to if Tony Khan wants a comedy character and they come to a price agreement.”
While AEW's interest remains unclear, TNA Wrestling is reportedly ready to act:
“Those in TNA have already said that they want to make him an offer, and for that company, he’ll come in fairly hot.”
Despite WWE releasing him without much fanfare, R-Truth is taking the change in stride. On the Road Trip After Hours podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long said the veteran is optimistic about the future:
“I talked to Truth, and he’s happy with it. I saw his statement that he made after the release. So you know, it’s like this with me. If Truth is happy, I love it.”
“God does things for a reason. This may be the best thing to ever happen to him.”
Podcast co-host Mac Davis added that Truth’s post-WWE run could give fans something new:
“We might see the R-Truth that we have never got to see where he’s allowed to be him.”
With TNA already preparing an offer and indie dates available, R-Truth’s post-WWE chapter could be his most exciting one yet.
