AEW has scrapped plans for Kenny Omega vs. Kyle Fletcher after concerns about Omega’s physical condition. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Omega isn’t at 100 percent, and AEW felt it was better not to risk a high-intensity singles match against Fletcher at this time.
Instead, AEW pivoted quickly. Omega’s feud with the Don Callis Family continued on the October 1 Dynamite, where Andrade returned, attacked Omega, and officially joined Callis’ faction. This shift keeps Omega active in storylines without overextending him physically, while also placing Andrade in a top spot. Omega’s lingering health issues—including a battle with diverticulitis—remain a factor, but AEW has found a way to protect him while still moving the feud forward.
