AJ Styles sparked retirement rumors with his cryptic hourglass Instagram post, but new details clarify his WWE future.
According to Fightful Select, WWE extended Styles’ contract by one year earlier this year, locking him in through February 2026—right after the Royal Rumble and just ahead of WrestleMania season. The company plans to revisit his status closer to that date, but for now, the “Phenomenal One” remains a fixture on WWE programming.
Styles once revealed in 2019 that he spoke briefly with AEW’s Young Bucks, though talks never got to the money stage before he chose to re-sign with WWE. At the time, he said the deal would likely be his last. With his current run involving a feud with Dominik Mysterio heading into Worlds Collide, fans will have to wait and see if AJ’s true “final run” begins when his contract nears its end in 2026.
