Update on Chris Jericho’s AEW Contract and WWE Return Rumors

A new report from Fightful Select has provided an update on Chris Jericho’s AEW status, fueling speculation about a WWE return. Jericho is signed with AEW through the end of 2025 but has been off TV since April after leaving his Learning Tree stablemates, Big Bill and Bryan Keith.

There have been no recent AEW creative discussions regarding Jericho, though he usually speaks directly with Tony Khan about his direction. WWE sources confirmed Jericho’s name hasn’t come up in creative talks, despite online speculation and his positive relationship with the company. There also isn’t a huge track record of him taking this amount of time off and how it would be handled, if there would be a contract freeze, or how a potential return could be handled. One WWE higher-up described the situation as “too early to tell.”
