Chris Jericho’s future in pro wrestling has taken a major turn as new reports suggest his AEW contract is set to expire at the end of 2025, leaving the door wide open for a WWE return. Dave Meltzer noted that insiders from both AEW and WWE believe Jericho could walk back into WWE, potentially as a Royal Rumble surprise.
While Jericho hasn’t confirmed the rumors, Meltzer cautioned that WWE’s confidence doesn’t always guarantee a deal. Age and schedule flexibility may no longer give AEW the edge, making a WWE run—similar to CM Punk’s—more attractive. Jericho, AEW’s first World Champion, might be looking to close his career on wrestling’s biggest stage with one last legendary move.
