Pat McAfee Reportedly Skipping WWE Due to Low Pay; Future in Company Uncertain

According to Dave Meltzer, Pat McAfee has not been showing up for WWE work because the company’s pay isn’t close to matching what he makes elsewhere. 

Meltzer noted McAfee reportedly earns around $17 million per year outside of WWE, while his WWE salary is only a small fraction of that—even with his commentary work and occasional matches.

McAfee, who also recently welcomed a young child, has stepped away from WWE for now. Meltzer suggested there’s a chance McAfee might be “completely gone” from WWE, though nothing is officially confirmed yet.
