WWE has already seen multiple talent releases in recent weeks, including Carlito and Sarah Logan, whose contracts were not renewed. Now, it seems that another potential release may be looming, causing unease among the locker room.
While speaking on The Bryan and Vinny Show, wrestling journalist Bryan Alvarez commented on the recent NXT segment involving Brooks Jensen, who was kicked out of The Culling by Izzi Dame. Alvarez criticized the segment for lacking logic and then suggested—while clarifying that he did not wish for this to happen—that Friday may bring bad news for Jensen.
“I want to make it abundantly clear, I’m not advocating for this nor do I want it to happen, but tomorrow is Friday. And I expect to wake up and see that the virgin [Brooks Jensen] has been cut,” Alvarez stated. “I can tell you that there’s a lot of people in WWE right now very nervous about Friday, since Friday is cutting day and they’ve been cutting talent as of late.”
This growing tension stems from prior reports indicating more WWE releases could be imminent following recent budget-related cuts. Fridays have quietly gained the reputation of being “release day” within the company, leaving many on edge as the end of the week approaches.
As of this writing, there’s no official confirmation that any additional talent releases are planned for this Friday. However, the anxiety among WWE talent remains high.
