Mike Santana may still be under contract with TNA, but that hasn’t stopped WWE NXT officials from taking notice after his recent breakout performances.
After making his May 27 NXT debut against Tavion Heights, Santana reportedly earned “high marks” from those within WWE. But the buzz grew even louder following his standout match with Trick Williams, pushing internal discussion about him to new heights.
According to a new report from PWInsider, WWE NXT has shown growing internal interest in Santana, with his name becoming a frequent topic among officials backstage after his back-to-back televised performances.
While Santana remains signed to TNA through the end of 2025, WWE sources are reportedly impressed with what he offers—and his rising stock within the wrestling world is hard to ignore.
Santana recently shared on Busted Open Radio that WWE has been incredibly respectful toward his authenticity and personal presentation—something rare in the industry.
“A lot of people are playing a character. I’m myself, bro. I’m thankful. I’m thankful that I’ve been able to get this far in my career not having to conform to anything or anybody and being myself. I’m thankful for that. Not a lot of people get to say that. That’s why it’s very important to me. The fact that I went down to WWE and they were so respectful of my authenticity and they were very on board with everything and my presentation and what I was doing and how I was doing it says a lot. It meant a lot.”
With NXT officials openly discussing him backstage and his TNA deal set to expire later this year, WWE’s interest in Mike Santana looks to be heating up fast. His stock continues to rise—and the story may only just be beginning.
