Despite speculation that his recent absence might have been part of a storyline, several sources within WWE have confirmed that Ron Killings’ (formerly R-Truth) departure was not a work.
According to Fightful Select, a number of talents spoke out and verified that Killings had genuinely stepped away from WWE and ignored multiple outreach attempts made by the company throughout the week.
The turning point came when WWE CEO Nick Khan personally stepped in.
“Killings ignored many of WWE’s approaches during the week, until Nick Khan took over and called Killings to work out a new deal.”
That personal involvement from the top of WWE leadership helped bring Killings back into the fold, leading to the surprise return at Money in the Bank and a newly structured contract for one final run in the company.
