The future of Private Party in All Elite Wrestling is uncertain, and WWE may be preparing to make a move.
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the contracts of the former AEW World Tag Team Champions are set to expire very soon. Despite some fan speculation that injuries were keeping the duo off television, sources indicate that is not the case. Instead, they have simply been off AEW programming by choice and even wrestled an independent match as recently as March.
After their surprise victory over The Young Bucks on the October 30 episode of Dynamite, many fans believed Private Party would become a major force in the company’s tag division. However, their momentum cooled significantly following a brief title reign and inconsistent booking.
Adding intrigue to the situation, Fightful Select reports that WWE expressed early interest in Private Party as far back as June, well before anyone knew when their AEW deals would expire. While there’s no confirmation the team has been officially approached by WWE or offered new contracts by AEW, speculation continues to swirl about where they could land next.
