AEW may be seriously rethinking the future of Collision, as reports suggest a possible permanent move to Thursday nights.
On the June 16 episode of the Fightful Report podcast, Sean Ross Sapp acknowledged fan speculation about the change and noted that the idea could become more realistic once NBA and NHL coverage ends in the spring.
While there’s no official decision yet, Sapp explained that AEW’s broadcast partner—TBS—wants to avoid direct competition with major wrestling shows on network TV, such as WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event on NBC.
Dave Meltzer added that TBS is wary of going head-to-head with WWE programming, reinforcing the likelihood of the shift. Bryan Alvarez also pointed out that the April 17 live Thursday episode of Collision was not merely a taping reschedule but a deliberate trial to test fan and ratings response.
As AEW juggles network obligations and growing competition from WWE, a permanent Thursday move for Collision could soon become a reality.
