AEW Accused of Falsely Promoting Grand Slam Mexico as a Sellout

AEW Grand Slam Mexico was promoted as a sellout, but reports suggest otherwise. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW claimed the event sold out and had over 10,000 fans in attendance.

However, non-AEW sources familiar with Arena México indicated around 14,000 tickets were paid for, with an actual crowd closer to 13,000—falling short of the venue’s 16,500 capacity. AEW also avoided its typical wide-angle crowd shots, fueling doubts about the claim.
