On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said WWE likely views Bayley as the “female Sami Zayn”—someone they respect but who’s booked to lose to rising stars like Valkyria.

Meltzer and Garrett Gonzales also noted Lyra’s recent physical transformation, including her noticeably stronger shoulders, suggesting it may have influenced WWE’s creative push. Meltzer speculated WWE hopes to recapture the chemistry Valkyria and Lynch showed in their earlier match this year.

While the decision keeps Bayley out of a major SummerSlam title match, it highlights WWE’s commitment to positioning Valkyria as a serious contender.
