Concerns Emerged Over Kyle Fletcher’s In-Ring Safety after Adam Cole Suffered Another Concussion

Adam Cole has once again been sidelined due to a concussion—this time allegedly caused by a stiff lariat from Kyle Fletcher during their recent match on AEW Collision. According to Sean Ross Sapp on The Hump, several AEW talents noticed the incident and weren’t happy about how it played out.

“There were definitely talent who asked, ‘Do you know which spot it was?’ And I said, ‘Yeah, it was the lariat.’ And they went, ‘Yeah.’ It was almost like it was done as a message,” said Sapp.

Though Fletcher is reportedly well-liked backstage, some felt the physicality crossed a line—especially considering Cole’s recent injury history. This incident follows prior criticism of Fletcher’s powerbomb on Cole earlier this year, which many felt was unsafe.

As Cole recovers, AEW now faces renewed scrutiny over in-ring safety and talent protection, with fans and insiders alike hoping the company takes the issue seriously moving forward.
