During a recent Q&A, WrestleVotes revealed that the timing varies depending on the talent. Some wrestlers are informed just moments before the news goes public, which is why their emotional reactions seen in documentaries are often 100% real. Others may get a few weeks' notice ahead of time, depending on their individual circumstances.

“It’s certainly per talent. Those reactions that they filmed and released on documentaries and things like that are natural, so some talent don’t find out until the moment. While other talent know a few weeks in advance, so it’s per talent,” WrestleVotes explained.
